John McAfee - The Founder of McAfee Anti-Virus - has been found dead in his Prison cell shortly after Spain approved his extradition to the United States
John McAfee is the Founder of one of the largest Anti-Virus Software companies in the world, McAfee Anti-Virus. He sold his stake in the company for $100 Million in 1994, and McAfee was later bought out by Intel for $7.6 Billion in 2010. He then went on to embed himself in a variety of business ventures surrounding antibiotics, cryptocurrency, and even became a presidential candidate in the 2020 election. Being a controversial figure, he’s known for a variety of subjects, both good, and bad. To the U.S. Government, he was alleged to be a criminal who engaged in Tax Evasion and the illicit manufacturing & sale of controlled substances, allegedly, Methamphetamine & Cocaine. He was also alleged to engage in “Pump & Dump Schemes” that included the creation and false advertisement of cryptocurrencies in which he purchased large proportions at cheap costs. However, he was publicly known for his role in exposing and criticizing U.S. Government corruption. Here are a few of the videos he’s posted from Twitter over the years.
In October, he was arrested in Barcelona, Spain on behalf of the United States Department of Justice and was awaiting extradition on charges of Tax Evasion and a handful of other financial charges. He was facing more than 30 years in prison and over $4,000,000 in charges. Less than an hour after the Spanish High Court approved his extradition, he was found dead in his cell hanging from a noose. The cause of death is still undetermined, but multiple local newspapers in Spain are reporting that all signs have pointed to suicide. Supporters of his, however, say otherwise.

McAfee has been known to make accusations that “bad actors” are out to get him and has reported a handful of assassination attempts to his following. He fled the United States with a cache of 31 Weapons, searching for asylum in over 11 different countries.
An IKEA in Atlanta, Georgia is facing backlash after they decided it was a good idea to throw a Juneteenth Celebration that featured Fried Chicken and Watermelon as the Main Course
IKEA sent out an email to their employees at a location in Atlanta, Georgia discussing their upcoming celebration of Juneteenth, a new Federal Holiday that commemorates the emancipation of enslaved African Americans. As part of their celebration, they claimed to be putting together a menu that featured Watermelon, Fried Chicken, Mac N’ Cheese, and Collard Greens. Employees, of course, were offended by the chosen menu because it was based on racial stereotypes that directly insult African American culture and went to a local news station, CBS 46, with their complaints.
“You cannot say serving watermelon on Juneteenth is a soul-food menu when you don’t even know the history; they used to feed slaves watermelon during the slave time.”
- Anonymous Employee
In total, 33 employees called in sick that day and did not show up for work, according to a report released by IKEA.
“It caused a lot of people to be upset… People actually wanted to quit, they weren’t coming back to work.”
- Anonymous Employee
The fact that none of their Black employees helped create the menu is what’s causing this frustration in the first place amongst the staff. This prompted an immediate email response from the General Manager, the message writing “I truly apologize the menu came off subjective.” The menu was then pushed back a day, being changed to include Mashed Potatoes & Meatloaf instead of Fried Chicken and Watermelon. This only added insult to injury, assuming the employees who called out on Juneteenth would come back to work the next day to be greeted by the day-late overhaul. One worker, who showed a picture of the celebratory meal to a reporter from CBS 46, explained that they ended up being only given Fried Chicken, Collard Greens, and Mac N’ Cheese - completely restoring any remaining faith the employees had left for their management in the first place.
“We value our co-workers’ voices and changed the menu after receiving feedback that the foods that were selected are not reflective of the deeply meaningful traditional foods historically served as part of Juneteenth celebrations… We are committed to educating ourselves and putting a process in place that will allow us to thoughtfully honor Juneteenth in the future.”
